Healthy Families America: A Family Support Worker will partner with parents to help families set and achieve goals to help families with young children thrive and succeed. Contact: Horizons Family Service Alliance at 319/472-3376.
Quality Early Childhood Environments: Childcare providers and preschool programs participating in a qualifying quality improvement program receive services to asses, plan and implement improvements to their programs and to receive a stipend to purchase educational items. Childcare Alliance Response Team (CART): Provides behavioral supports and services to Early Learning Environments in Benton County, with children that are exhibiting challenging behaviors. Contact Grant Wood AEA, 319/399-6574.
WAGE$: Provides a salary supplement to reduce turnover and encourage higher education by providing stipends to child care providers working in low-compensated jobs. Contact IAEYC: 515/331-8000 ext. 120
Childcare Nurse Consultant: Provides services to early learning environments in Benton County to ensure best health and safety practices are utilized.
Postnatal Home Visits: Provides a postnatal home visit to new moms in Tama County to provide education and support. Contact Tama County Public Health, 641/484-4788.

To help address the childcare shortage in our area, the Better Tomorrows Early Childhood board has allocated funds to increase the number of available childcare slots. New childcare providers or existing childcare providers that are expanding their capacity may apply for funds by contacting Better Tomorrows ECI at 319/214-1471
